The deVere Group, the world’s largest international financial consultancy, has issued the official deVere Group scam review that studies and analyses the most damaging and elusive scams in recent history.
Through the deVere Group scam review, deVere hopes to educate its clients about previous tactics that scammers have used and hopes to save more people from becoming victims.
The deVere Group has thus compiled a list of the most compelling scams in history.
Victor Lustig
Known as 'the man who sold the Eiffel Tower', Lustig sold money-printing machines that supposedly printed money in six hours for approximately $30,000. However, hours later, when the machine did not print any money, Lustig would have long been gone.
Still, Lustig's most infamous scam was when he posed as a government official and convinced scrap metal dealers that Paris could no longer afford to maintain its monumental trademark so he sold the Eiffel Tower.
Gregor MacGregor
A Scottish soldier and con artist whose most infamous scam involved him selling 'Poyais', a supposedly American country he himself had invented.
Frank Abagnale
Abagnale drew more than $2.5 million by writing fake cheques, and then proceeded to printing his personal bank account number onto bank deposit slips.
The deVere Group scam warning proves that scammers are willing to do anything to earn assets that you have worked so hard for. The deVere Group advises investors to seek professional financial advice whenever they have concerns on an investment product they might be considering or are already invested in.
